Red rose bridal bouquet

Are you engaged to be married? Have you had to reconsider your wedding plans?

The Covid pandemic stopped us all in our tracks last March and has continued to affect each and every one of us in one form or another. Never before has the wedding industry been thrown into such turmoil.

If you are in this predicament, remember that you’re not alone right now. Many couples have been impacted, countless weddings have been postponed, and we know it’s a hugely challenging time for so many impacted by this dreadful virus.

If, however it is your desire to get married in the coming months no matter what, it is still possible to have the wedding day of your dreams, despite restrictions!

Weddings must and should go ahead when allowed to do so and ensuring all covid guidelines are followed.
We have all heard the quote “Size doesn’t matter. It’s all about the heart.” well, never a truer word was spoken when it comes to weddings right now!

Many people are starting to see the benefits of a more private affair; it’s often cheaper, less stressful, more intimate and ultimately more enjoyable to be able to relax and not worry about all the masses of finer detail.

When all’s said and done, it’s your day so do what you like… Big wedding, small wedding, whatever you decide, I’m sure you’ll love it and Petals & Posies would be absolutely delighted to design and develop the perfect florals for your special day.

We were privileged to work with some beautiful couples during the last year. The desire to say ‘I do’ was so strong, Covid was certainly not going to stand in their way and they still had the beautiful flowers they imagined. The guests may have been whittled down to just 15 but there will never be a limit on the flowers one can have at their wedding.

Each wedding was absolutely stunning in every way, despite the need to follow strict covid rules to keep everyone safe at all times. From the venues organising smaller rooms providing a more intimate feel to all the little bits of detail that make a wedding so special.

Monica & Jo had to change their original wedding day and finally wed in September 2020. It was a fabulous hot and sunny day and they truly chose the flowers to reflect this with a selection of beautiful cream and lemon Roses. We also had to rethink the original table décor, Monica & Jo wanted to bring all their guests together as all were sat on separate tables. We made a beautiful fresh floral table runner and bridged the gaps between the tables bringing the tables together, it really did work and looked stunning.

The weather on the 3rd October 2020 could have not been any worse if it tried. It turned out to be the wettest day ever recorded. This wasn’t going to stop Christina & James from having the day of their dreams. The flowers certainly made up for the dark damp day. With a beautiful selection of seasonal Dahlias and Lisianthus in Apricot & Damson tones to compliment the Teal Bridesmaids dresses, they really did lift the mood and brighten the venue. It really did look lovely and super cosy.

Nicola was amazing! Like all other weddings in 2020, we had challenges around every corner, but Nicola was so very flexible and gladly supported us through all these changes. The arrangement of flowers, from table centrepieces to Bridal Bouquet were absolutely beautiful. Regular catch ups up until the wedding made sure that Nicola knew our likes and dislikes, with a perfect match of colours and flowers bringing our venue to life! Especially amazing as we really only had a very vague idea of what we wanted, Nicola’s amazing knowledge of her trade and flowers really helped us find what we want!

Thank you Nicola. 10/10 would recommend!

The desire for Christiana & Adam to go ahead with their wedding was so great, they decided to have the legal ceremony so they could become Man & Wife and have booked to have a blessing along with their wedding reception for this October, exactly one year on. I cant wait to be part of their celebrations. Christina carried a Bridal Bouquet of beautiful red & Cream Roses and will be having something similar for their celebrations this year.

We would absolutely love to hear about your wedding plans and have the opportunity to present a floral plan for your perfect day.

Please drop us a note to say hi and we will respond within a day. In the meantime, have a look through our wedding gallery for some inspiration
