Why we love working at Lainston House

What makes Lainston House so special is the natural flow between the different spaces. Guests move from the ceremony to drinks, photographs and the wedding breakfast with ease, creating opportunities for flowers and styling to evolve throughout the day rather than being confined to a single moment.

This allows us to create designs that feel connected from beginning to end while helping couples make the most of their floral investment.

Understanding weddings at Lainston House

Couples can choose to hold their ceremony outdoors at The Pavilion or within Dawley Barn. Outdoor ceremonies are often chosen during the warmer months, while Dawley Barn provides a beautiful ceremony setting throughout the year.

Following the ceremony, guests typically enjoy drinks, canapés and photographs within the house, on the South Lawn and around the grounds while Dawley Barn is transformed ready for the wedding breakfast.

This natural transition creates excellent opportunities for flowers to be repurposed and enjoyed throughout multiple parts of the day.

Outdoor ceremony flowers at The Pavilion

The Pavilion creates a beautiful focal point for outdoor ceremonies and can be styled in several ways depending on your vision and how you would like your flowers to be used throughout the day.

Floral sprays

Positioned on The Pavilion itself, floral sprays create beautiful framing for the ceremony and can often be repurposed within Dawley Barn afterwards.

Floral pillars

Freestanding floral pillars placed in front of The Pavilion create greater impact during the ceremony and offer maximum flexibility for repurposing later in the day.

Additional ceremony styling

Popular additions include:

  • Chair drapes
  • Chair posies
  • Meadow arrangements
  • Welcome sign flowers
  • Lantern styling
  • Aisle flowers

Weddings in Dawley Barn

Dawley Barn is one of our favourite wedding spaces in Hampshire.

Its character and scale provide a beautiful backdrop for both ceremonies and wedding breakfasts, allowing flowers and styling to enhance the space without overwhelming it.

Popular designs include:

  • Floral meadows
  • Floral pillars
  • Bud vase collections
  • Floral table runners
  • Elegant centrepieces
  • Top table flowers
  • Fireplace arrangements
  • Layered candlelight styling

Making the most of your flowers

One of the advantages of Lainston House is the opportunity to enjoy your flowers throughout multiple parts of the day.

Many ceremony flowers can be repositioned during the Dawley Barn turnaround, including:

  • Meadow arrangements
  • Floral pillars
  • Pavilion floral sprays
  • Welcome sign flowers
  • Feature ceremony arrangements
  • Long and low signing table flowers

Many couples choose a long and low arrangement for the signing table during the ceremony. Whether positioned on the signing table at The Pavilion or within Dawley Barn, it can then be relocated to the top table and continue creating impact throughout the wedding breakfast.

Our Lainston House tip

When planning your flowers, think about how they can work across the entire day. Floral pillars, signing table arrangements and Pavilion sprays often provide the best balance between visual impact and repurposing opportunities.

Styling at Lainston House

Alongside wedding florals, we also provide styling and finishing details designed to complement the venue.

Popular options include:

  • Chair drapes
  • Welcome signs
  • Seating plans
  • Order of the day signage
  • Table runners
  • Decorative styling pieces
  • Post boxes
  • Lawn games

The South Lawn provides a wonderful setting for lawn games, creating a relaxed space for guests to enjoy during the drinks reception.

Creating atmosphere throughout the venue

The internal corridor linking the house and Dawley Barn offers another opportunity to add subtle styling touches.

Bud vases placed along the window sills or lantern styling throughout the walkway help create continuity as guests move between spaces.

Candlelight at Lainston House

Lainston House operates a flame-free policy, meaning natural flame candles are not permitted.

To create the same warmth and ambience, we provide high-quality LED candles that work beautifully throughout the venue whilst fully complying with venue requirements.
