Wedding Flowers and Styling at Syrencot

Our first-hand experience of Syrencot means we understand how flowers work within both the Glasshouse and outdoor ceremony settings, as well as how they can transition into the Farmshed afterwards.

We have created Syrencot ceremonies using meadow arrangements, wooden arbours, floral broken arches and pedestal displays, alongside lighter details such as floral posies on the Glasshouse benches.

Our experience also includes repurposing ceremony flowers into the Farmshed, styling the fireplace, creating a wide range of guest-table flowers and adding candlelight to the wedding breakfast setting.

Where larger displays need to be moved professionally after the ceremony, we can include the changeover and repositioning within your wedding service.

Our wedding styling service can also be considered alongside your flowers where you would like additional decorative details to form part of the overall design.

For many couples, the ceremony begins in the Glasshouse before guests move into the gardens and reception areas for drinks.

The Farmshed then becomes the focus for the wedding breakfast before transitioning into the evening celebration.

The Foldyard, positioned beside the Farmshed, also provides an additional reception area and forms part of the wider guest flow between the ceremony and wedding breakfast.

This movement through the venue creates useful opportunities for suitable flowers to take on a second role.

A floral arch can become a backdrop in the Farmshed. Pedestal arrangements can frame the top table or fireplace, while meadow flowers can be repositioned around the top table, cake or another focal point.

These movements are considered when the flowers are initially designed, rather than being decided on the wedding day.

The Glasshouse has a light, open character that works particularly well with natural, garden-inspired flowers.

Its glazing means the surrounding gardens remain an important part of the ceremony setting, so we prefer floral designs that add impact without obscuring those views.

We have styled Glasshouse ceremonies using meadow arrangements, wooden arbours, floral broken arches, pedestal arrangements and floral posies on selected bench ends.

The wooden bench seating provides several possibilities for aisle styling.

For a lighter floral detail, posies can be attached to selected bench ends, introducing colour and texture without making the aisle feel overly decorated.

For a fuller effect, meadow arrangements can be positioned at intervals along the aisle, creating a natural line towards the ceremony focal point.

At the ceremony end, a wooden arbour, floral broken arch or pair of pedestals can create greater impact while allowing the gardens beyond to remain part of the view.

The aisle can be styled quite differently depending on the atmosphere you would like to create.

Bench-end posies provide a lighter touch, while meadow arrangements introduce more flowers and create a stronger garden-inspired effect.

Meadow flowers are particularly useful when couples would like their ceremony arrangements to continue into the wedding breakfast.

After the ceremony, suitable arrangements can be moved into the Farmshed and placed around the top table, fireplace, cake or another feature.

This allows the flowers to contribute to both the ceremony and wedding breakfast rather than being enjoyed for only one part of the day.

The Walled Garden already has considerable natural character, so an outdoor ceremony does not need to be heavily decorated.

We prefer to work with the existing planting and setting, using flowers to define the ceremony rather than compete with the garden.

Tall urns, pedestals, floral arches and meadow arrangements can all create a clear ceremony focal point while keeping the surrounding landscape visible.

The final design will depend on your chosen ceremony position, colour palette, wedding season and the level of floral impact you would like.

Suitable outdoor ceremony flowers can also be designed with their later position in the Farmshed in mind.

Syrencot is particularly well suited to planned floral repurposing.

We have repositioned ceremony flowers into the Farmshed, including meadow arrangements, floral arches, wooden arbours and pedestal displays where their design and mechanics make this practical.

Where included within your wedding service, we can remain on site to manage the movement of larger or more complex arrangements.

This might include meadow flowers placed in front of the top table, pedestal arrangements positioned either side of it, ceremony flowers moved to the fireplace or cake area, or a suitable floral arch becoming a wedding breakfast backdrop.

The important part is that the second position is considered from the beginning.

That allows the arrangement to work visually in both locations and ensures it can be moved safely within the available changeover time.

Our wedding florals are always planned with these opportunities in mind where repurposing forms part of the couple’s priorities.

The Farmshed has plenty of character of its own, so we do not believe every surface needs to be filled with flowers.

Instead, we focus on the areas that will have the greatest influence on how the room feels.

We have supplied all of our main table-flower formats at Syrencot, including collections of bud vases, low floral arrangements, taller centrepieces and combinations of different designs.

The floral approach is planned around the actual table layout, allowing us to consider the proportions of the tables, guest sightlines, space for dining and how the room will look as a whole.

Repurposed ceremony flowers can then bring additional impact around the top table, fireplace, cake or another feature without the need to create entirely separate displays for every part of the wedding.

Where couples would like flowers, candlelight and table details to be considered together, our wedding styling service can form part of the wider design.

The fireplace is one of the Farmshed’s strongest natural focal points.

We have styled it with floral displays, using its scale and central position to create additional interest within the room.

It can work as a floral feature in its own right or become part of a wider design using ceremony flowers that have been repositioned following the ceremony.

Candlelight can also be incorporated where appropriate, creating additional warmth as the Farmshed moves from the wedding breakfast into the evening celebration.

The fireplace is a good example of somewhere we can concentrate the floral investment rather than adding smaller arrangements throughout every part of the room.

Our arrival time at Syrencot is planned around your ceremony time and the scale of the floral installation.

For many weddings, we arrive at around 10.30 am, adapting this where the timing or complexity of the setup requires a different schedule.

We begin with the personal flowers, delivering the bridal bouquet and bridesmaids’ flowers directly to the Billiard Room before continuing with the ceremony and wedding breakfast flowers.

This allows the personal flowers and venue flowers to be considered as part of one complete wedding floral design while ensuring everything is in place before your guests arrive.

The Foldyard is a newer part of the Syrencot experience and provides an additional reception space beside the Farmshed.

Although we have not yet styled a wedding specifically within the Foldyard, we consider it as part of the wider flow of the day when discussing how you plan to use the venue.

Where flowers or selected decorative details would add value to the area, these can be considered alongside the wider wedding styling rather than treating the Foldyard as a space that automatically needs decoration.

Our lawn games are available for couples who would like to add something relaxed and sociable to the drinks reception.

The exact positioning would be agreed with Syrencot in advance, taking into account the reception layout, guest movement, weather and ground conditions.

The Walled Garden may provide a suitable setting, but we would confirm the final location with the venue before the wedding.
